Content Description
Refers to a meeting with Marshal O'Donnell concerning Fernando Po; explains O'Donnell has given assurances that Baptist missionaries will not be expelled from the island; reports the missionaries wish to sell their church; explains that the Protestant residents might be satisfied if the Spanish Government stated that they 'would not be deprived of privileges which they had hitherto enjoyed'; reveals that if the missionaries leave the island, they will probably be accompanied by a large portion of their congregation; reveals the Spanish Government may be trying to attract Spanish emigrants to Fernando Po by warning them of the yellow fever in Rio, their most favoured destination.
