Content Description
Refers to a meeting with Calderón Collantes regarding the dispatch of the 'Spanish Squadron' to Mexico in order to obtain 'redress for the injuries' suffered by Spanish subjects at Tampico; explains the Government and people of Mexico should not be made to suffer for the acts against the Spanish people as they were committed by a group of 'insurgent troops'; reveals the Commander of the Spanish Squadron is authorized to use force 'in the event of there being no hope of redress being obtained in other ways'; refers to the desire of the Spanish Government to obtain a peaceful solution to the problems between Spain and Mexico.
