Content DescriptionRefers to a meeting with 'Her Catholic Majesty' [Isabel II] during which a letter from Queen Victoria was delivered; reveals that Her Catholic Majesty was informed of the regret that would be felt in London and Paris should force be employed to settle the dispute between Spain and Mexico; reports that Her Majesty feels she has waited too long for Great Britain and France to achieve a solution and she therefore considers the use of force justified; reveals that Great Britain and France are concerned that war 'might lead to very great and dangerous complications'; reports that it was suggested to Her Majesty that the San Vicente assassinations were not politically motivated; reveals that Her Majesty hopes Great Britain and France could still 'obtain for Spain the satisfaction which had been asked for'.
