Content Description	Reports on a discussion he has had with Mr Collantes about the war in Italy; Spain is sympathetic with Italy and wishes it to be free of Austria but also wishes to maintain good relations with France; Spain however is aware of the dangers of increased French influence in the south of Europe; Spain will not therefore depart from its position of neutrality; he [Buchanan] assured Collantes of Britain's willingness to assist in the search for peace.
