Content DescriptionReports that he has had an audience with the Queen at Aranjuez; he delivered his letters to the Queen, and also to the King who was present, his letters of authority from Queen Victoria; he was attended by Mr Lumley and other members of the legation; made an address to the Queen; he and Mrs Buchanan then had an informal audience with the Queen and King, and then, after enquiring about the health of the Prince of Asturias and the Infanta, they were introduced to them by the Queen; he was supposed have met the Queen the day before, but she was suffering from inflammation of her foot after her visit to Toledo.
