Content Description	Comments on the alleged wish of the Queen [Isabel] to intervene on behalf of the Pope; it is unlikely that the Spanish Government would embark on such a dangerous business; comments on the despatches of the Papal Nuncio, in which he describes the Queen as being "either unwilling or unable" to comply with his representations on behalf of Pope, and accuses a member of the Government of heresy; the Queen seems aware of the danger involved in supporting the Pope too strongly; the Moderato Party has recently attempted to discredit the Government for not supporting the Pope and the King of Naples [Two Sicilies].
