Content DescriptionReports that various personal effects of the Count de Montemolin and his brother Don Fernando have been captured by the authorities, and that about 13 persons have joined General Ortega in flight; has expressed to the Spanish Government the satisfaction of the British Government in hearing of the failure of the late revolutionary movement in Spain, and its hope that the Spanish Government will be merciful to those who took part; he [Buchanan] feels that the Spanish public will not be satisfied unless General Ortega's sentence is capital punishment; Colonel Carrion, Carlist chief in Castile, who received Queen's pardon, has been shot, as have two others; the Marquis of Romana and his brothers are on parole in their own house.
