Content DescriptionDiscusses a report, denied by the Spanish Government, that 10,000 soldiers were about to be concentrated at Badajoz, on the Portuguese border, under the command of Marshal Serrano; Spain appears to be looking to extend her influence and power into Africa and Portugal; Pastor Diaz has just been appointed Minister to Lisbon; he [Buchanan] believes that Mr Pastor Diaz is "one of many Spaniards who dream of Iberian Unity and a Spanish Gibraltar."
