Content Description
Informs him that since Calderon Collantes has departed he thinks that the Spanish government will accept a verbal explanation to Isturiz [of Malmesbury's speech on the slave trade]; gives details of plan proposed to the Cortes by General O'Donnell on public expenditure; expresses approval of General O'Donnell's idea.
Postscript informing him that the note drawn up by the Foreign Office was done so before the change of Ministry but not revised by Isturiz; the note was accepted by the new government as a legacy from their predecessors.
