Content DescriptionInforms him amendments have been made to the draft Convention that are agreeable and that he has assisted de Bluhme in drawing them up; states that further discussion has taken place on the value of the indemnity; requests that money is paid in a way that meets the wishes of the Danish government; he will forward the note by Mr de Bluhme to Berlin; proposes that the Convention allows for Danes to identify the nationality of vessels travelling through the Sound.

Letter continues [bound after Bu 39/14]; hopes that Clarendon will agree to this proposal; states that the Danes want to protect themselves against any unfavourable arrangement with Berlin.

Copy of enclosure sent with letter; document relating to prevention of fraudulent usage of British flag.
