Content DescriptionApologises for the delay in answering his letter; comments on the short duration of the Duke's [Wellington] office and the lack of appointments made by him, with the exception of Palmerston and Cowley; notes that the Secretaryship of the Legation to Mexico had been offered to Grenville and Magenis, but both had turned it down and that the Earl of Durham had been appointed to St Petersburg which would allow Mr Bligh to return home; informs him that Edmund Lyons was to go to Greece which may mean that Clinton Dawkins would move on to Washington; refers to possible appointments for Henry Parish, Henry Fox and William Russell.
