Harris would retire and that this would improve his own prospects for promotion; discusses the possibility of his getting The Hague or Madrid and that he might have to return to Athens if he got either of these posts.

PS Informs him that Sir E. Harris had been to Karlsbad and that his health was improved; he was unsure if Harris would now retire.
