Content DescriptionThanks him for the information sent; states that he will have the opportunity of comparing Buchanan's information with official accounts of German 'Beetrootsugar' manufacture; discusses sugar beet manufacture in Russia, Germany and France; had seen a pamphlet on the subject by Digby Seymour; in his opinion, Lord Granville would be a more popular Foreign Minister than Lord Palmerston; expected that Stanley of Alderley would succeed at the Board of Trade; had not heard from the Bloomfields since they left England; asks to be remembered to Sir G Seymour.
