Content Description	Informs him that he gained all his intelligence with regard to the Franco/Prussian War from the newspapers; states that the Emperor Napoleon received a great deal of attention and that he may regain power thanks to Bismarck who preferred him to the idea of a republic; reports that he was unsure as to the nature of the relationship between Austria and Russia; notes that Germany would hold the key to the balance of power in Central Europe for some time; reports that the feeling in Germany in favour of annexing Alsace Lorraine was very strong and that Bismarck and the King would find it hard to resist this pressure; states that he was sorry to have missed his son when he visited Berlin, explaining he was in Potsdam.
