Content Description	Informs him that Gorchackov's 'designs against the Turks' were reported everywhere, even by Count Beust; comments on Mansfield's report on the new railway which may weaken the position of Russia on the Polish frontier; states that it was his opinion that Gorchakov was preparing for war; comments on Bismarck's recent defeat in the upper house which may cause a crisis in Prussia; discusses the possibility of a Prussian alliance with Austria and the effect this would have on Russian designs against Turkey; informs him that Layard was doing well in Spain but that he complained about his house which Crampton had left as a 'pig sty.' Informs him that a large number of despatches had been sent from Brunnow to Catagazy and speculates on their contents; comments on Russian activity in the Black Sea and states that the experience of Sebastopol should have warned them against such an action; informs him that the Irish Land Bill had been launched but that he had not yet had time to read Gladstone's speech which ran to many pages.
