Content DescriptionStates that Blane's return to St Petersburg has given rise to this letter; Count Berg informed him of the decision for the King of Prussia to accompany the Emperor on his visit; the Austrians expressed a wish to send a representative to reassure the leaders about Franz Joseph's policies; by the time the Austrian representative had arrived the visit by the King was cancelled, former plans were reverted to and trouble in the Galician Diet ensured the plan was dropped; remarks that Berg is not saying he at no time believed the joint visit would go ahead; comments on how pleased the Russians are that the Poles have a strong position in the Galician Diet; remarks on the development of an 'Ultra-Polish Party' in the provinces; the Emperor is said to be in good humour.
