Content Description | Expresses relief that the Parliamentary session was almost over; was anxious to hear a true account of events in Hungary [Russian intervention] as he doubted the Field Marshal would retreat without serious cause; was going to Dublin and then on holiday in Scotland.
PS: Palmerston's speech was effective both in and out of the Commons; Aberdeen looked 'very black' afterwards. |
