Comments on the current political crisis over reform of the franchise; the reformers had persuaded Lord Grosvenor to take the lead of the opposition within the ranks of the liberal party; reports that Russell had ordered the party to assemble at Downing Street and informs him that he was going to Folkestone and then to Paris; discusses the chances of the Reform Bill getting a second reading and suggest the qualification [for the franchise] would be £7-8; informs him that they were all well; the Bathursts were in Florence and Ferrand had asked after him.
