Content DescriptionInforms him that the latest news from Paris was that a privileged position for Saxony had been secured within the North German Confederation; states that the newly established order in central Europe would not last and all parties would take any opportunity to 'throw off the yoke of Prussia'; reports that the Emperor Napoleon was in poor health; reports from Bloomfield and from Florence suggested there would be war in southern Europe; reports that the Duke of Cambridge was indignant that the King of Hanover's letter to the King of Prussia had been returned unopened, and that the Queen had instructed the Government to do what it could for the King of Hanover; reports that Clarendon was to go to Paris and that there was competition between Loftus, Paget and Bulwer for Paris and that Bloomfield had said he did not want the job.
