Content DescriptionDiscusses the Austro/Prussian crisis, stating that the only news was that Karolyi had been instructed to ask Bismarck if Prussia would abide to the Justice Convention and had been given an evasive answer; reports that he had been told that the Emperor Napoleon had told the Prussian envoy that he did not support the policy of the Prussian Cabinet; informs him that he had seen the King and warned him against the 'danger of disturbing the peace of Europe'; states that France, Russia and England should urge Austria and Prussia not to disturb the peace and to settle their differences at a conference.

Discusses the position of Bismarck in a peaceful Europe and compares it with that of Europe at war; informs him that the Queen of Württemberg had gone to St Petersburg to try and destroy the reputation of Bismarck; discusses how the German states would support either Prussia or Austria and hopes that the possibility of war would restrain the King of Prussia; comments on his busy social life in Berlin and refers to Bismarck's dance which went well.
