Content Description	Reports that he has succeeded in keeping the Hanoverian Government straight regarding the Treaty of May 1852; Austria and Prussia consider themselves bound by the Treaty; mentions Denmark's obligations concerning Holstein and Lauenburg; Platen advocated annexation rather than occupation as the rights of the King of Denmark would be preserved; the King of Hanover had received King Christian's letter of notification; enquires if the King of Prussia had received his; the King of Hanover has no sympathy for the Prince of Augustenburg; considered the sanction by King Christian of the German Constitution as unwise; the French Emperor wishes to see the integrity of Denmark threatened as this would offer him a pretext to seize the Rhineland. Reports that Russia has proposed that the Great Powers meet at Copenhagen; suggests that the British Government should oppose the breaking up of Denmark as this would calm the Germans; states that the conduct of most of the German sovereigns during the crisis had been 'cowardly and dishonest'. PS Wishes Lord Russell would notify him of the advice he gave to Copenhagen.
