Content Description	Returns the copy of his despatch; agrees that nothing in his remarks to Bismarck called for the caution he received and that his comments are correct; the Danes had expected an assurance that their islands would be defended; the Danish people should have learned not to rely on the English Government; had heard Lord Palmerston had threatened a dissolution [of Parliament]; the Prussians had handled the whole affair with great skill; states that Denmark will seek terms with the German powers if she sees herself abandoned; comments that knowing Lord Palmerston and Lord Russell's real feelings towards Denmark, he found his belief in political integrity had been shattered.
