Content DescriptionComments that the proposals for peace have been disappointing in Denmark; has sent him an account of his conversation with Monrad; informs him that the King is very upset, but it would appear the proposals regarding Schleswig-Holstein will be accepted; had attempted to arouse support for Denmark while he was in England; Lord Palmerston and Russell seem prepared to help but the 'peace party had carried the day'; had been informed that the Queen [Victoria] favoured Germany [Prussia], but had found that was not the case; expected the return of Lady Paget and his children; wished that Lord Russell had allowed him to stay in England; was getting his cottage at Vedbek on the Sound ready for summer.
