Content DescriptionReports that he has given Milbanke a note about the sum of 190 florins which are to be sent to Buchanan; when Milbanke was at Munich he was always having his entries returned; Lady Milbanke and her daughter are in the habit of giving offence when introduced to people; asks, on behalf of the Milbankes, the sum he used to pay for chimney sweeping; Strachey is 'displaying his new wife' as he would a picture; the transition from country parsonage to life at a diplomatic court was a difficult adjustment for her; Vienna would be beneficial as junior diplomats have to work their way into society.
