Content DescriptionComments that he was surprised to learn that a new blue book was in production, as Hammond had informed him that there was not time to inspect the latest despatches; reports Rechberg's belief that the conferences will bring about an armistice and that he believes a personal union between the Duchies [of Schleswig-Holstein] and the Kingdom of Denmark is possible; states that Prussia was in the ascendancy and Austria was 'playing second fiddle'; refers to the Treaty of 1852 and the forthcoming conference in London at which Bernstorff [or someone of equal rank] should represent Prussia; notes that the conference may be held in Brussels instead of London; reports that Mrs Strachey's health has not improved and she was still in hospital.
