Content DescriptionStates that the Austrian people know very little about the causes of the Schleswig-Holstein dispute and the course of events but they are raising funds for wounded soldiers; reports that there is uncertainty as to the actions of General Manteuffel and that Rechberg does not wish to follow the Prussian policy of bullying the smaller [German] states into adopting the policy of the great powers; asks his opinion on the stance of Denmark, stating that it is his view that Denmark would not enter into negotiations unless the independence of the monarchy was to be maintained; reports that a special messenger has been sent from London, but that he had sent back very little of interest apart from some observations based on official despatches.
