Content DescriptionReports that events connected with the Danish question are moving with speed; Rechberg has confirmed that governments which normally act with Austria have broken ranks with regard to the [Duke of] Augustenburg [becoming head of Schleswig-Holstein]; comments that Rechberg was unsure how to act with regard to the Prussian line over agreements of 1852; discusses proposals relating to Denmark and the position which will be adopted by England; reports that he has to see Bülow, who knows nothing of any despatch from Copenhagen, but looked abashed when told of Bismarck's remark to Quaade; suggests that Bismarck has attempted to frighten Denmark by threatening to renounce treaty obligations.
