Content DescriptionThanks him for his letter which he was able to acknowledge as an Austrian vessel was sailing via Corfu to Trieste; relays news from Constantinople; the Russians had crossed the Danube in force; 25 vessels were intercepting Turkish vessels in the Bosphorus; states that the Sultan may surrender and that the commercial classes were feeling more secure; states that he had not written to Mr Canning and that Corfu may not be the ideal place for negotiation as it is at a distance from the Russian Imperial HQ; sends regards to Cartwright.
