| Content Description | Each of these volumes contains notes, arranged by parish, of any repairs or maintenance needed to the fabric of the parish church, its parsonage or vicarage and any outbuildings; and also of any ornaments or furnishings within the church which were defective or missing. A few months after the visitation, a court session was held at which the churchwardens and clergy reported the progress of the repairs.
The volumes were added to at each regular 'visitation' or inspection, which was done on a deanery basis, and the series is arranged chronologically. |
