Content DescriptionFormularies and related books, providing examples of wordings to be used in all types of business before the court. Examples are taken from the Archdeaconry of Nottingham, and from other archdeaconries and other ecclesiastical courts. Most of the Precedent Books were compiled over long periods of time by various different people.

Up to 1733, precedents for legal documents are in Latin.
