Admin HistorySport has always been a significant part of student life at Nottingham. The development of the Highfields site in the 1920s included the creation of various sporting facilities such as football grounds, cricket pitches, tennis courts and a running track. A new Sports Centre was opened on University Park in 1970 and a swimming pool in 1996, with other sports facilities available at other campuses and at Grove Farm. The David Ross Sports Village was opened in 2016.
Custodial HistoryThe photographs were transferred from the University Sports Centre and University of Nottingham Sport in 2015.
DescriptionThe photographs in this section date from the 1990s to 2018 and show the University of Nottingham teams for a range of sports from Aikido to Windsurfing. Other photographs of sports teams, including those representing their hall or department, are present elsewhere in the University collections including under the references UMP/5, UMP/11 and NUP.
