Admin History	Student societies and sports club have always been an important part of university life, gicing students the opportunity to try out new hobbies or continue with interests they developed before leaving home. By 2020, the Students Union was home to more than 200 societies and over 70 sports clubs, as well as groups and student-run services. The Freshers or Welcome Fair is usually held during the first week and is a showcase for the various societies, clubs and services available. Over the years the fairs have been held at a number of different locations.
Custodial History	Since the 1970s, members of staff from Manuscripts have collected materials relating to student societies, and in 2015 a commitment was made to document the societies represented at the annual Welcome Fair. Flyers are collected for the archive (see UL/F/1) and photographs are taken at the event.
Description	The photographs show individual stalls and officers as well as generals scenes inside and outside and a selection of the flyers that were collected. Not all societies are represented. No photographs were collected for the year 2018 as the Fair was too busy.
