| Content Description | William Haslam Heaton (c.1857-1941) was appointed Professor of Mathematics and Physics at UCN in 1884. He also took charge of Mechanics and Engineering from 1885, becoming Professor of Mathematics, Physics and Engineering. He was appointed Vice-Principal of UCN in 1896 and Principal in 1911, an office he held until his retirement in 1929 at the age of 72. |
