Content DescriptionThe Talbot family were the Earls of Shrewsbury. This volume contains extracts from 'the five MSS folio Volumes of the Families of Lovetot, Furnival and Verdon, but chiefly of the great Family of the Talbots...which volumes belong to the Library of the Lord Viscount Weymouth at Longleate...'.

The text includes a number of family trees, as well as copies of letters written to the family, 1516-1617.

Fair copy of one scribe

Bound in fawn mottled leather with triple lines around borders, blind tooling close to the border lines and a central stamp of the letter P surmounted by a coronet in gold; stamped in gold on spine the letter 'h', the title 'History of the Talbots Family' and at base of the spine 'E.2706' (spine divided into seven fields, six of which have a floral ornament stamped in gold); binder gave 7 front and 18 back leaves to the MS.
