Content Description	This volume contains genealogical information on the Cavendish family dating back to the 11th century. It includes black and white sketches of armorial bearings, and sketch plans of family tombs with armorial detailing, within the text. Much of the text is in Latin. James Strangman cannot be identified at present, but it can be inferred that he was an antiquary or genealogist by profession.

Descriptive Features	Watermark: Strasbourg Lily with insignia 4WR suspended from the lower centre of the watermark, 127 x 58 mm. Countermark: letters IW, 11 x 25 mm; one type of paper throughout One secretary hand throughout, in dark brown ink. Left and right vertical margins marked by folding the paper 1780-1800 marble paper on pasteboards; upper cover, gold stamped brown calf leather label reads 'Pedigree of Cavendish by Strangman'; spine is covered with a strip of brown calf leather.
