Watermark: Grapes surmounted by crowned letters JAM, 35 x 24 mm

Plain vellum on paste boards; upper and lower covers used subsequently stamped black with letters HL surmounted by coronet (see letters from member of the British Museum, Augustus W. Francks, now bound between ff i and ii); spine was subsequently painted brown and given three brown leather labels and gold stamped, perhaps to match a specific bookshelf; top label has a double fillet border and in centre has the letter t; the middle label is gold stamped with 'Book of Common Prayer In Anni - 1549-1552' and has a double fillett border; bottom label is gold stamped with a shelf number 'F.356'.
