Watermark: Arms of Amsterdam, free standing lions, approx. 98 x 98 mm (Type A, body of volume).
Countermark: monogram CB, approx. 25 x 17 mm (With Type A)
Watermark: Arms of Amsterdam, free standing lions, 95 x 95 mm (Type B, pp 387-88 and 373-74).
Countermark: monogram MHG, 20 x 12 mm (With Type B)
Watermark: Arms of Amsterdam, lions standing on ornate bars and monogram JB below the bars, 125 x 115 mm (Type C, front and back flyleaves and pastedowns).
Countermark: letters IB, 15 x 24 mm (With Type C).
Italic script
Brown ink marginal rulings throughout; written on uniformly ruled paper
Plain tan mottled leather on covers; blind tooled upper and lower covers with 3 concentric panels, fillets, and inner panel enmarked with a roll of stems and flowers; middle panel is of plain beige calf leather while outer and inner panels are of mottled brown calf leather; spine, as in Pw V 42 and 43, is divided into six sections, five of which have a floral gold-stamped design; the second section reads 'COLLECTI OF POEMS IN MANUS'; binder added two front and two back flyleaves, paper now stained and foxed.
