The poem is not ascribed but the author has been identified as Charles Bridgeman by William Pinkerton in Notes and Queries (3rd Ser., vi, 490-491).

The poem concerns Wimpole, Cambridgeshire and satirizes several contemporaries associated with Robert Harley of Wimpole.
