Title is followed by additional information 'by Bache Thornhill Esq<ui>re: Master of Robin Hood.' This song may possibly be by a local author; Francis Needham (librarian to the 6th Duke of Portland) refers on the cover to several Thornhills with the Christian name Bache living in the parish of Norton Cuckney, Nottinghamshire, in the 18th and early 19th centuries.
