Texts consists of an elegaic couplet in Latin with English translation, on Tobias Venner's book 'Via Recta ad Vitam Longam' (1st edition, 1620; Pollard and Redgrave 24643).
'Mr Tho: Downer of St Johns', appears to left of title.
Title Of Work
A Censure On a worke of Dr Venner a Physitian entitled Via Recta ad Vitam Longam. Prefixed on a Booke of this kind borrowed of a noble Gentleman (Sr Hugh Smith) and returned back to him next day wth this Distich in English and Latin
