Content DescriptionText, which consists of 45 lines, is a copy of a monumental inscription to John Philips. Marginal note by lines 26-27 reads: 'In a different Hand. These 2 lines were rased out, after ye monument was put up, by ye order of ye Bp. of Rochester. He said ye word Miltono was not fit to be in a christian church'.

The monument was set up by Sir Simon Harcourt.

Text followed by Latin obituary of John Phillips, who died in Hereford, 15 February 1709.

Authorship suggested by reference to Pw V 334, where another copy of text is endorsed with reference to Atterbury and Freind.
