Content Description | Text consists of 12 lines satirising the Italian opera singer Francesca Cuzzoni (c. 1700-1770) shortly before her departure from England where she had sung for a number of years in Handel's operas at the King's Theatre in the Haymarket.
The poem was appended to a satirical print by George Bickham showing a young lady reclining on a couch (1731). |
