|Descriptive Features||Modern binding; blue leather with 3 parallel gold tooled lines around the borders of front and back covers; coat of arms of the 6th Duke of Portland gold- stamped in centre of both covers; gold stamping on spine reads 'POEMS AND PLAYS. MS DUKE OF NEWCASTLE. I.'; leather borders on front and back pastedowns also gold tooled. Two front and two back flyleaves added in course of binding.|
Two types of paper present, described as A and B: type A paper in sections i) and iii); type B paper in sections ii) and iv).

Countermark: Monogram VPI surmounted by trefoil (With Type A)
