Discusses his case in detail; thinks that the actions of the King of France may be affecting the recipient's judgement as far as his innocence is concerned; requests financial assistance; says that if he had been guilty he would have confessed under the 'mildness and tenderness' of the recipient's interviewing technique; says that he would have been unhappy to undertake 'any ill desire' on behalf of the King of France; hopes that Lord Nottingham will not be placed under suspicion solely because he stayed with him; says that all his declarations of innocence have been truthful; hopes that the recipient will examine him again.
