Advises Stanhope to continue negotiations regarding the compensation for Prince Charles [of Denmark]; directs Stanhope to 'inform' himself of the 'true posture of affairs upon the Rhine'; wishes to know how the Margrave of Baden is unable to 'hinder the French from making such great detachments from their army there'; directs Stanhope to discuss a possible solution with the Pensionary; says that the 'embarcation will be al in a readiness'.
This document has been identified as being in the hand of Robert Harley, 1st Earl of Oxford.
