Content Description | Discusses plans regarding the campaign in Spain now that Barcelona has been taken and has surrender; says that Lord Galway has recovered and is hopeful that the Portuguese will do 'better next year'; comments that Galway must do 'every thing' since Mr Fagel has 'come away'; is still awaiting further news so that he may issue new instructions to Sir D. Mitchel; says that Mr Vernon has relayed instructions from the King of Denmark that he wishes to 'prolong the terme for Pamenth?'; has agreed and is glad that Denmark wishes to settle the issue by treaty rather than by force; encourages Stanhope to continue negotiations with the Pensionary and the guarantors [of the Treaty of Travendahl]; comments on the recent discussions between 'several Princes' and the Duke of Marlborough relative to the augmentation of the army.
