Content Description
Encloses an extract from a letter [not present] from Mr Huguetan to a contact of his in Holland relative to Bills of Exchange [for paying the armed forces]; can see no reason why everybody should not agree to the proposal once it is fully explained; explains how France pays her armies; says that the queen is ready to assist the 'Covennors'; states that England has made several sacrifices regarding Dutch ships which have been seized; says that if the 'States' knew this they would not be so stiff as regards the issue of contraband, especially as the Dutch plans would assist the 'naval commerce' of France; hopes that there will be an agreement that Lord Galway will have the command of the forces destined for Portugal and provisionally for the next campaign; says that there will be time before next Spring to settle the matter.
