Says that 16 'Ankors' of 'Brandy foreign' have been seized from Mr Clark by customs; says that Clark sounded French but claimed to be Italian; does not believe that smuggling is Clark's only 'design upon this coast'; fears that he is corresponding with France; suggests that his mail be intercepted in order to learn of his designs.
