Discusses the appointment of John Colson as Chief mate of the ketch 'Good Will' on the understanding that it was bound for Portugal; states that Colson was later informed that the vessel was bound for France and that they intended to 'use the French trade that winter'; says that his protests were ignored; comments that the master of the vessel Peter Pruno has brought his family over to England.
