Content Description | Orders by an Ordinance of 21 Sep. 1643 that certain persons be apprehended for 'coyneinge, counterfeiting, clippinge and exchangeinge of monies' and that they should be brought ' before this Committee sittinge in Sir Abraham Williams house in the Cittie of Westm[inster]'; also that search be made for 'bullion, counterfeit and clipped monies, mettells fitt or used in ye fabricatinge of monies, instruments for ye makeinge or defaceinge of monies'; orders the seizuire of such equipment and that it be brought to the office of the Mint at the Tower of London.
Names Robert Monkes, William Monkes, Adam Godby, James Orell and Ellis Monkes as coyners; Adam Hurst, Adam Leaver, George Croft and Robert Alred as clippers and Robert Woafall as a graver.
